My Film Reel
I started my film journey in my sophomore year of high school when I took a class called “Principles of Media.” This class walked me through all the steps needed to create a short film. Since then, I’ve constantly been filmmaking. This reel shows shots and snippets from projects I’ve worked on throughout my film career.
Cancer Care
This film is an analogue film based off of the Ashcan and Americana art movement. It portrays the story of a woman being diagnosed with cancer after a hard journey of immigration.
Tug of War
This is a self portrait film, and I wanted to portray the life of a teenage girl who is unsure of where she fits and what her identity is. The main character comes across a game of tug of war that solidifies her question of identity and symbolizes the indecisiveness in choosing to fall under one identity. As the film progresses and she re-lives experiences that put her under specific identities, the rope snaps, and she realizes that identity is always evolving. There is no limit to who you are.
